Venard Cabin
is an 1850's log cabin which was originally built
by the Venard family and located on St. Rt. 664 about a mile
from Camp Oty'Okwa. It was given to our camp by the Venard
family in 1986 and is now nestled in the woodlands of Camp
Oty’Okwa amongst maples, pines and oaks, some of which
are 70-250 years old.
Venard Cabin, as it has been named, is in an easily accessible,
yet secluded, location.
The warmth of the stone fireplace and the cozy accommodations
create a peaceful retreat for as many as six. There is one
queen size bed on the main floor and one queen size bed plus
a full size bed in the loft. A fully equipped kitchen, bathroom
and deck off the back with picnic table and grill have been
added to this authentic structure. This cabin also provides
the following items: linens, towels, cooking utensils, dishes,
pots and pans, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, air conditioning
and TV/DVD/VCR.
After a full day of exploring the magnificent surroundings,
relax around the fire ring roasting marshmallows, star gaze
and listen to nature's night sounds.
